The roots of this blog came from a nickname that was given to me: G.I. Festival Jayne. My good friend *Megan*S* coined this nickname for me while we were in Oregon August 2017 for the Total Eclipse. Long story short, I had all the things, at all the right times. Basically, once a girl scout, always a girl scout…ALWAYS BE PREPARED!
I learned early on in my party life that having a good time comes down to being prepared. Weather it be a flask, pack of gum, Light Up Glow necklace, or simply an extra roll of TP in line for the Port-a-Potty, being prepared can make or brake your own good time.
This radical preparedness that I had indeed adapted from being a former Girl Scout and now Burner was some sort of an awesome gift that I could share with everyone. I have spent hours in the festival trenches learning about the inclusive lifestyle of festival communities. Spent hours learning how to be prepared for such extreme events/situations far far away from the comfort of well, almost anything sometimes!
Simply put, this blog was started as a living resource about having fun and how to not die at festivals. Festivals, concerts, parties, events, retreats, gatherings, campouts. Whatever you want to refer to them as, they can be intimidating but they don’t have to be! I have spent a good chunk of my adult life “training” for these fun situations and I want to gift my pearls of wisdom, some learned the hard way, to anyone who wants to camp and party smarter, not harder!
In addition to talking about all things festival, I want to make this blog more inclusive to all sorts of entertainment and good times, which is why I ultimately went with the name *The ART of FUN* for this general internet publication. Nature gives us ART everyday and the possibility of FUN is all around you, you don’t even need to leave the house! I hope you enjoy the ramblings of a crazy millennial hippie who just wants to help spread the sparkle, please read through my many posts to find some inspiration for your next adventure in life!
